Data

Data Validation and Data Management

MECX provides data validation, data management and data interpretation for small to large chemistry programs in federal, local and commercial arenas.

Early involvement by our chemistry scientists in a project ensures that sampling and analyses have appropriate data quality objectives (DQO) and support our client’s operational objectives. We consider what analytical results will mean to the overall project objectives at the beginning of a project, so that the project team is prepared to handle positive, negative or inconclusive analytical results.

We manage and coordinate laboratory and field measurement programs including sample management, audits, database development/support, data validation/usability, program-specific database queries, data quality assessments, contaminant-of-concern assessments and interpretation of results.

Following the collection and analysis of results, we also provide clients risk assessment, report writing, litigation support, third party review of data quality reports, development of supplemental field and chemical analysis programs and related activities.

Quality Assurance Documents

MECX staff have a rich history of preparing and reviewing project quality plans that are essential to the systematic execution of a project. We prepare and review plans including: Field Sampling Plans (FSP), Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPP), Sampling and Analysis Plans (SAP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Scopes of Work (SOW).

Our staff reviews site history and Applicable or Relevant and Appropriate Requirements (ARARs) to develop DQOs to fulfill site exit strategies and laboratory methods selection.

Laboratory Auditing

In addition to developing a customized laboratory program for clients with contract laboratories to standardize procedures, MECX also provides oversight of laboratory implementation of method modifications to meet the long-term monitoring goals specific to a given site. To support these goals, MECX performs laboratory audits, serves as the primary laboratory point-of-contact and facilitates laboratory project management to ensure consistent quality and competitive pricing for our clients.
