MECX
is led by Retired U.S. Navy Captain Douglas D. Carvel, P.E. who is the President and CEO. Doug leads with an undeniable "Can Do" spirit that he developed as a leader in the Navy Seabees. This attitude is shared by all staff of MECX.
MECX
became one of the first Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) in 2003; and continues to be a leader in this federally mandated program. Additionally, we were one of the first SDVOSB companies to be CVE-verified.
We were the first SDVOSB prime contractor for NASA and have recognition as a small business of the year nominee. We received a "Safety Achievement Award" for safe work practices performed at NASA Johnson Space Center. We have also been awarded numerous prime contracts with federal agencies including the U.S. EPA, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Department of Labor and the Veterans Administration.
Our company roots go back to 1996, when we operated as a subsidiary of ManTech International (NYSE: MANT) as ManTech Environmental Corporation (MEC). Our main focus was to commercially implement the innovative environmental technology solutions being developed by the USEPA Kerr Research Lab. In February of 2002, when ManTech International decided to focus on government security, our team spun-off to form an entrepreneurial small business named MECX.
MECX
was formed in February 2002 from the asset acquisition of ManTech Environmental Corporation’s environmental consulting branch, who was recognized as a leader in innovative remediation technologies. We leveraged this spirit of innovation to expand from remediation technology into multi-discipline consulting for turn-key solutions for our commercial and government clients.
Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business
We are a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) registered on contracting databases, including: Central Contractor Registration, PRO-Net, Air Force Small Business Environmental Database, United States Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA); and various other government contractors’ databases.
We are proud to bear the CVE symbol as confirmation of our verification for the “Vets First Verification Program” that verifies and certifies legitimate SDVOSB firms.
