Our Company History

MECX was formed in February 2002 from the asset acquisition of ManTech Environmental Corporation’s environmental consulting branch who was recognized as a leader in innovative remediation technologies. We leveraged this spirit of innovation to expand from remediation technology into multi-discipline consulting for turn-key solutions for our commercial and government clients.

MECX is led by Retired U.S. Navy Captain Douglas D. Carvel, P.E. who is the President and CEO and leads with an undeniable "Can Do" spirit he developed as a leader in the Navy Seabees. This attitude is shared by all staff at MECX.

MECX became one of the first Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) in 2003 and continues to be a leader in this federally-mandated program. Additionally, we were one of the first SDVOSB companies to be CVE-verified.

We were the first SDVOSB prime contractor for NASA and have recognition as a small business of the year nominee. We received a "Safety Achievement Award" for safe work practices performed at NASA Johnson Space Center.

We have also been awarded numerous prime contracts with federal agencies including the U.S. EPA, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Department of Labor and the Veterans Administration.

MECX Projects

MECX provides a full range of engineering and environmental services for its clients in the United States and Internationally. These clients include real estate investment firms, corporations, law firms, lending institutions, insurance companies, industrial facilities, and governmental entities. Our services range from conducting due diligence assessments in conjunction with mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and other business transactions to acting as an overall program manager for comprehensive compliance audits of multiple commercial or industrial facilities.
